I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee.
I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis in 2007 with a major
in Fashion Merchandising.
I worked in retail for many years and thought that was my passion and dream job; however, that quickly changed while I was babysitting for extra income. I had the pleasure of caring for the sweetest and most innocent young man. My experiences and growth with this little one made me realize my true passion...working with children! I made the decision to further my education and received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, also from the University of Memphis. I have now been teaching 1st grade for 3 years, 2 of which have been at Egypt Elementary.
Teaching is a lifelong process of learning new philosophies and strategies, learning from the parents and community, learning from colleagues, and especially learning from the children. Children have taught me to open my mind and my heart to the joys, the innocence, and the diversity of ideas in this world. Because
of this, I will never forget how to smile with the new, cherish the old, and laugh with the children I teach.
